Submissions
We hope you will consider the Journal of Policy History for publishing your scholarly examinations of the history of public policy and political history.
The JPH uses an automated submission process called ScholarOne. This online system manages and tracks manuscripts through the process from submission, through review, to final decision. You may submit your manuscript and accompanying materials through the link on this page or through Cambridge Journals Online. The link below will take you to the ScholarOne site where authors will establish a login and password. They will then upload their submission materials to the site.
Manuscripts should be double-spaced, and should generally not exceed 8,000 words not including notes. Citations should appear as endnotes following The Chicago Manual of Style format for the humanities. All submissions must contain the following as prompted by the ScholarOne system:
- A cover letter introducing the submission.
- A copy of the manuscript.
- A separate title page which lists author's name, position, organization, department, and contact information (address, email, phone number).
- A biographical sketch not exceeding 50 words which will be published with the article if accepted.
- An abstract summarizing the submission not exceeding 150 words.
- A short list of keywords (five to ten)-These can be listed on the title page.
- If you have an ORCID iD, include it and we will list it on the Contributors page.
Manuscripts will be reviewed anonymously by scholars with expertise in the manuscript’s subject matter; authors' names should appear only on the title page.
